There are perhaps no other things for which our area is more celebrated than its pristine beaches and world-class arts scene. A new initiative from one of our favorite local resorts is bringing the two together in a stunning way.
The Bellwether Beach Resort, located on St. Pete Beach at 5250 Gulf Boulevard, recently launched its Zodiac Art Showcase at Level 11 Rooftop Bar, a monthly arts event showcasing some of St. Pete and Tampa Bay’s most influential artists. The events have become a quick hit since launching in August with an impressive piece by Jason Harvin, AKA Wayward Walls.
On the first Monday of every month, a party is held on the rooftop where the artist unveils a custom work meant to intertwine that month’s zodiac sign with the artist’s personal style and expression. The entire night then becomes a celebration not only of the artist, but of all whose birthdays fall during that month, complete with music, specials, and the best sunset views in Pinellas County. Plus, show your ID with your birthday for that zodiac month and you get a complementary glass of wine.
The Zodiac Art Showcase takes place alongside “Local Vibes at Level 11,” a weekly party meant for locals happening on the rooftop every Monday from 5-11 pm. Each Monday, guests can enjoy exclusive surprises and giveaways that keep the excitement alive all summer long as they savor tapas-style bites and relish discounted drink specials available only for locals. To keep the vibes going strong, there are live DJ sets every week from 6-10 pm, as well.
The next date for the Zodiac Art Showcase is actually the night of Labor Day – Monday, September 2 at 6 pm. Local favorite Derek Donnelly, who helped launch the St. Pete arts scene, will unveil his Virgo-inspired piece on the rooftop, followed by a full night of celebrating.

The Zodiac Art Showcase is under a bigger artistic umbrella for Bellwether Beach Resort, as their “Celebration of Art on St. Pete Beach” initiative has brought a veritable tidal wave of creativity to the beautiful resort. We also highly recommend their Brushes & Beaches live painting experiences. Every third Thursday from 6-9 pm, renowned mural artist Merritt Horan Capurro leads a group of local artists in a live painting by the water. Set against the picturesque ocean vista, Beaches & Brushes allows you to witness the magic of local artists crafting stunning artworks while you relish in delectable food and drinks, all accompanied by live music.
Celebrate under the full moon each month
When the moon hits your eye … it’s time to have fun. The Bellwether Beach Resort is one of the most scenic destinations on St. Pete Beach, and their nighttime lineup of events may be the most beautiful around, as the celebrated resort is hosting monthly Full Moon Celebrations, from the ground floor up to the rooftop. This month’s event promises an unforgettable evening filled with giveaways, live music entertainment, celestial-themed cocktails, and fun activities property-wide.
Bellwether is one of our favorites any time of the day (and any day of the week) between the beautiful Bongos Beach Bar and Grille on the ground level and the majestic Level 11 Rooftop Bar & Lounge capping the lovely resort. There may not be a better place on the beach to catch the sunset, and now the event will continue well into the night and long after the sun has dipped into the waters of the Gulf.
The next of Bellwether’s Full Moon Celebrations takes place on Saturday, September 21 from 6 pm – 12 am, with parties at both of the resort’s celebrated bars. Both events are free to enter as Bellwether invites guests to bask in the spellbinding allure of the September Corn Moon as you revel beneath its luminous glow. Festivities also include sound bathing and starlight yoga, as well as live music at Bongos and a DJ at Level 11 to keep the moon magic going into the evening.
