You've probably seen the construction downtown and wondered what was going on. New upscale apartment complexes are coming! This is a good sign for a growing city and the new residents will only make the downtown scene more vibrant as they work and play in the 'Burg. Here is a look at what is in store and it looks like people will be moving in as soon as Spring 2014.

Beacon 430
This four building, luxury rental community, located at 430 3rd Ave. S., will comprise of 326 apartments including studio, one, two, and three bedroom apartments. The buildings are arranged around a concrete parking garage and have top-notch finishings that include stainless steel appliances, hard surface flooring, granite countertops, and energy efficient lighting and appliances. Amenities include management offices, a two story fitness area, club rooms, lounges, an upscale pool, and more distributed throughout the buildings. The land was bought from the Tampa Bay Times and an arrangement is in the works to allow their employees to share the parking garage. Architecturally, this is a joint project by Slocum Platts of Winter Park, FL and Looney Ricks Kiss of Baton Rouge, LA.

Modera Prime 235
This eight story mid-rise at the intersection of 3rd St. N. and 3rd Ave. N. will offer 309 studios, one, and two bedroom apartments with state of the art finishings like granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and hard surface flooring. Amenities include a 7,000 square foot clubhouse, rooftop terrace, exercise studio, game room, wi-fi cafe, pool, and more.
