☀️A Tribute to Florida :: Day 500☀️ Its official y’all… it has been 500 days since the Forresters have left the Sunshine State. There’s a lot to miss about Florida, but in the passed 500 days we have moved twice, spent 20 days in Canadian National Parks and major cities, and made amazing friendships and connections I wouldn’t have been able to find in FL. Though Seattle and Austin aren’t on the ocean where dolphins are plentiful, the water is turquoise blue, and piña coladas are flowing…. I would not change those experiences for anything. I will forever build on those memories, even though I’d do anything for a hot Italy sandwich from Mazzaro’s…

September 20 – Hep Cat Swing Band

Get ready to go back to the 40’s and 50’s as swing music arrives at Cassis on Beach Drive. Bud Good and his band will be around for two performances at 6pm and 8pm. If you want to cut a rug, just be sure to make a reservation, and when you do advise the host of show attendance: (727) 827-2927. September 21 – Wendy Williams & Friends at The Mahaffey

The daytime icon Wendy Williams is coming to The Mahaffey this September. Williams is here to tell her truth. Wendy has assembled four of her friends – comedians Carmen Barton, Kristen Sivills, Royale Watkins and Dominique to bring the funny. 8pm. Click here for tickets. October 19 – Burn: Morean Street Party

Party on the street, in the heart of the eclectic Central Arts District of St. Petersburg, FL and feel the heat! Molten glass, street art and live music surrounds you as you interact with art and artists, sip craft cocktails and enjoy gourmet food. This is an official SHINE Mural Festival event. The event runs from 8pm-midnight on October 19. Special Shine tickets are $35 (and only available through August 31). Regular tickets are $50. Krew tickets are $100. Jariah Higgins LIVE in the Sundial Courtyard

Lounge Cat at The Independent Bar
It’s First Friday in the Burg, and The Independent Bar is hosting live music to celebrate. Lounge Cat is set to perform. Music begins at 9pm. Independent Bar, 1049 Central Avenue.

Harvest Poetry Showcase at The Studio@620
“Harvest” is a showcase of varied poetic and musical talents collected from the Keep St Pete Lit Poetry Open Mic events held monthly at the Studio620. 7-9pm. Tickets are $15. Studio@620, 620 1st Avenue South.

Danfield at The Ale and The Witch
It’s First Friday, which means live music at The Ale and The Witch. Music from 8-11pm. The Ale and The Witch, 111 2nd Avenue Northeast.

Hurricane Dorian Relief Drive with the Tampa Bay Rays (All Weekend)
The Rays are hosting a hurricane relief donation drive at Tropicana Field to help those in the Bahamas affected by Hurricane Dorian. Fans can donate items on Friday, September 6 from 9am-5pm, Saturday, September 7 from 9am-5pm. and on Sunday, September 8 from 9am-noon. Requested items include AAA batteries, tents, sunscreen and bug spray, work gloves, solar phone charges, pet food, small battery operated fans, tarps and heavy duty trash bags. Note: The Rays are unable to accept items that are not listed there, especially cases of water and other beverages. Fans who participate will receive two tickets to the Sunday, September 8th game versus the Toronto Blue Jays. Donations can be dropped off at Parking Lot 9, on the corner of 9th Street South and 4th Avenue South at Tropicana Field.

Throwin’ Shade: An Art Show by Bailey Gumienny at The Bends
In this new portrait series, Bailey Gumienny will be highlighting the duality of a seemingly everyday objects. Catch this immersive new art show at The Bends. 8pm-midnight. The Bends, 919 1st Avenue North.

The Florida Bjorkestra goes Over the Rainbow at The Palladium
Just a spoonful of jazz cabaret helps the medicine go down. Featuring award winning actor Matthew McGee, joining Rebecca Zapen, Chelsea Hooker, Colleen Cherry, Spencer Meyers and Florida Björkestra favorite and National Treasure Jamie Perlow. 8-11pm. $20 in advance, $24 day of, $40 for reserved seats. The Boats and The Wrenchers at The Emerald Bar

The Foundations of Yoga: A Six Week Series with Amanda Riker at The Body Electric
Join Amanda Riker for a six-week crash course on the practice of modern yoga. Amanda will cover an array of topics from the functions of popular yoga poses to yoga history and breathing techniques. SHINE Preview Party and Fundraiser at Station House
Since 2015, the SHINE Mural Festival has welcomed 70 of the worlds most prolific mural artists to St. Pete. These artists have transformed many of our walls into works of art, making our city a melting pot of creative energy from around the world. There will be DJs, drinks, and more. 7-10pm. Saturday, September 7

Brocante Vintage Market (Saturday and Sunday)
The biggest and best vintage market in the Burg is back this weekend! Shop curated vintage items all weekend long. Open from 9am-7pm on Saturday, 9am-5pm on Sunday. Admission and parking are free, and friendly pets are welcome. Brocante Market, 2200 2nd Avenue South.

Get Fit St. Pete Yoga at Crescent Lake Park
Join Healthy St. Pete on the first Saturday of each month for Yoga in the Park. Classes are hosted by The Body Electric Yoga. 9-10am. Crescent Lake Park, 7th Street and 22nd Avenue.

Yoga Poolside at The Hollander
The Body Electric hosts a poolside yoga class every Saturday at The Hollander. All levels are welcome. 8:30-9:30am. $10 pre-registered, $15 at the door. The Hollander, 421 4th Avenue North.

Hurricane Dorian Supply Drive at Crossfit 9 (Saturday and Sunday)
Local businesses like Crossfit 9 are doing their part to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian. This Saturday and Sunday, bring a $20 cash donation or supplies from a list on Crossfit 9’s event page, and they’ll waive your 9HIIT class fee. Classes at 8:30am and 10:30am on Saturday, 8:30am and 9:30am on Sunday. Crossfit 9, 2727 6th Avenue South.

Pilates at The Chihuly
Join the Body Center St. Pete for a community Pilates mat class at the Chihuly Collection Native Garden! This one-hour class will inspire and bring the fire. Bring your own mat. 9:30-10:30am. $15, you can register in advance online. Chihuly Collection, 720 Central Avenue.

International Vulture Awareness Day at Boyd Hill

90’s Prom Party at 3 Daughters Brewing

Rusty Wright Band at The Palladium

The Woodwork in Concert at The Ale and The Witch
The Woodwork is a Naples, FL based band with folk and jazz infused indie music. They perform live at The Witch on Saturday. Music from 8-11pm. The Ale and The Witch, 111 2nd Avenue Northeast.

Yoga on Tap at Green Bench Brewing

Mimosas and Masterpieces at The Dali
