BurgBorn at The Mahaffey Theater – June 16

Keep Saint Petersburg Local and The St. Petersburg Greenhouse present #BurgBorn, an event celebrating St. Pete’s success stories. Get inspired by these BurgBorn individuals and businesses that have received national and international recognition.. Opening remarks by Mayor Rick Kriseman. The keynote speaker is Producer Will Packer, who has established himself as one of Hollywood’s blockbuster hit makers and is one of the only African American producers in the world who has had eight of their films open number one at the box office. Collectively, his films have grossed nearly $1 billion. Packer is also the Executive Producer of Roots Series / #ROOTS, a remake of one of the most celebrated TV programs of all time. The event takes place on June 16 at The Mahaffey Theater. 10am-7pm. Tickets are $90 for general admission, $135 for VIP. Mahaffey Theater, 400 1st Street Southeast. 


The Local COOP One Year Anniversary – June 25

Puccini’s La Boheme: St. Petersburg Opera at The Palladium Theater
A poet, a painter, a musician and a philosopher. Is it any wonder these four “bohemians” are penniless? Luckily for them, true love isn’t measured in money. Mimi and Musetta are the girls they can’t resist, but love is tested by Mimi’s fatal disease. Puccini’s score is filled with familiar, soaring melodies – there’s a reason why this opera has been an audience favorite since it was written. The Big Easy is coming to the Burg! Tampa Bay Rays vs Houston Astros at Tropicana Field (Friday-Sunday)
