Plume Poetry Presents: Tess Gallagher
Tess Gallagher, long considered among America’s – indeed the world’s – most acclaimed poets, essayists, and short story writers, is the author of Midnight Lantern: New and Selected Poems, Moon Crossing Bridge, Dear Ghosts, The Man From Kinvara: Selected Short Stories. Her Soul Barnacles: Ten More Years With Ray, a “bittersweet collection of diary entries, memoirs, essays, letters, and poetry that celebrates the marriage and literary partnership with her late husband Raymond Carver,” one of America’s most celebrated fiction writers. Gallagher will be joined for an introductory reading of a collaborative work with her long-time friend Lawrence Matsuda. Born in the Minidoka Internment Camp in 1945, Matsuda is a well-known poet in his own right (A Cold Wind From Idaho) and a social activist and lecturer on the heritage and causes of Asian-Americans.
