Welcome to Gulfport, a city bristling with great art, food and events. The area is about to get even more welcoming courtesy of Trolley Market Square, formerly known as Tangerine Greenway. For the organizers, the new and improved area at 4900 Tangerine Avenue South has been 10 years in the making.

The events space and park will feature a replica trolley as a central attraction. This 49th Street icon is part of a larger redevelopment plan in Gulfport.

Trolley Market Sqaure will officially open on February 23, and it will be no small occasion. The opening celebration will run from 10am-3pm It all begins with a giant dedication ceremony with the local high school marching band, bag pipes and an honor guard.

The parks debut coincides with the return of the So Classic Car Show. The load in time for the car show begins at 7:30am. Judging on the cars commences at 11am and winners will be announced at 3pm.

Car enthusiasts will also be treated to Homestead-Miami International Speedway’s race car display  from their Nascar track.

Gulfport’s delicious Saturday Market will also make its return on February 23. This celebration is a longtime coming and the culmination of tireless work from So49-49th Street South Business Association.
