We love the ‘Burg, but our hearts are with all of Pinellas County. Our friends in Treasure Island—residents and businesses alike—have worked exhaustively to recover following multiple hurricanes this summer and fall. Officials have just announced something new to look forward to: Back to the Beach: Sand & Kites & Coastal Delights.
The festivities will take place on Treasure Island Beach on March 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Visitors will see sand castles beyond their wildest imaginations.

“Visitors will be amazed by a giant sand sculpture symbolizing Treasure Island’s journey of recovery and renewal,” wrote officials in the event announcement.
Two days of sand castles, kites, and live music
Big, vibrant kites will soar over the beach during the festival weekend. Visitors can anticipate local live music, tons of food trucks, and a vendor market offering a variety of unique products.
Those behind the local government and the tourism boards shared a joint statement: “Let’s all come together to celebrate the strength of our community, appreciate the beauty of our beaches, and demonstrate that Treasure Island is open, vibrant, and still shining.”
