John’s Pass Seafood Festival is a massive celebration of local food and great music. The location at John’s Pass Village doesn’t hurt either.
The seafood and music festival —the second largest on the East coast — runs from October 25-28 with non-stop music, libations and, of course, delicious treats.
Savor fresh Florida seafood
Kick things off with a special Flavors of the Gulf tasting event, which runs from 6-10pm the evening of October 25. Taste your way around Tampa Bay sampling from 16 of the area’s best restaurants.
Pair your favorite flavors with craft brew samples from 20 local breweries. 10 local bartenders will be mixing up their signature drinks using Tito’s vodka all vying for your vote. Live music will be performed through out the tasting. Tickets to this event are $35 each.
Halloween costume block party returns
Want to win big for having a creative costume? Join in on the seafood fest’s Halloween Block Party and Costume Contest. This event takes place on the festival’s main stage Friday, October 27. DJs will be providing spooky beats as those best in their Halloween best compete for $5,000 in cash prizes.
Don’t worry, kids can get in on the fun, too. That same Friday, from 1-6pm, there will be a kids costume contest for children 12 years and younger. Kids are invited to enjoy a bit of early trick-or-treating during the event.
Earn your meal at the Seafood Fest 5K
Want to earn your feast of fresh Florida caught seafood? Join in the Seafood Fest 5K. Come out Saturday morning and take to the sand and enjoy the famous, breath-taking views Madeira Beach views.
Every registered runner will get a $5 discount coupon to be used at the John’s Pass Seafood Festival starting at 10am. The race departs from 12901 Gulf Boulevard at 9am. You can register for the race online.
Help shatter a spirited world record
Let’s not forget the World’s Largest Bloody Mary Toast. John’s Pass Seafood Festival’s world record has been broken and they need to get their title back — and we’re so on board to help shatter the record.
This year the goal is to get 3,000 people toasting at once. The toast takes place at 1pm on October 28 at the festival’s main stage. Oh, and those bloody Mary’s are free for participants.
Festival gives back to the community
The non-profit organization has long been dedicated to giving back to the community. Proceeds from the event are donated to the City of Madeira Beach and the Pinellas County Schools.
