The Tampa Bay Lightning plan boat parade to celebrate Stanley Cup victory

The Tampa Bay Lightning are Stanley Cup Champions. It feels good to type that. It could be the first of several championships for the region this year. The Tampa Bay Rays just secured the AL East Title, and the Tampa Bay Rowdies have clinched a playoff spot. For what it’s worth, after week 3 the Bucs are number one in their division.

To celebrate the Stanley Cup win, the city of Tampa is hosting a boat parade. Here’s what you need to know:

The 2020 Stanley Cup Boat Parade begins at 5pm on Wednesday, Sept. 30. The event will take place along the sprawling Tampa Riverwalk.

Fans are invited gather along the Riverwalk, but the city is asking people to practice social distancing and encourages wearing face coverings.

After the boat parade, the Tampa Bay Lighting have planned a celebration at Raymond James Stadium. This event is free to attend, though just a limited number of tickets are available. It’s set to begin at 7:30pm on Wednesday, September 30.

Tickets to the event can be claimed online beginning at 1pm on Tuesday, September 29.

“Join us after the boat parade for a celebration event at Raymond James Stadium honoring the 2020 Stanley Cup Champion team. Claim up to 6 tickets for this FREE public event. Parking for this event is free. Lots open at 5:30 pm. Must have a ticket to enter parking lot. Gates will open at 6:30 pm”
