The Burg’s first cat cat cafe, Sunshine Kitty, prepares for 2019 debut

The viral videos of cat cafés across the globe have always kept us green with envy until Sunshine Kitty Catfe announced they were opening in the Burg. Is it opening meow? Not quite, but it’s getting close.

What is a catfe? It’s a small cafe where customers can watch and play with cats. This concept is especially enticing because Sunshine Kitty Catfe has partnered with Friends of Strays, which means all of the cats at the cafe will be adoptable.

So it’s a bit of therapy for the customers and an initiative to help homeless kitties in the Tampa Bay area.

In just under one week the catfe will launch an IndieGoGo campaign to help raise funds to make it a reality. The money raised will go toward renovations on their location, though a specific address is still TBA.

Basically this cat cafe means cuddles with cats, good coffee and a slew of tasty pastries. We’re here for all three. You can follow the IndieGoGo campaign in the embedded post below.
