Best potato chips in the state as far as I’m concerned. I was trying to channel Tony Soprano there. The Burg Bar & Grill is a local gem. While the Grand Central District continues to evolve as a food and entertainment hub, The Burg remains a constant, a savory totem of the best this city has to offer. If you can believe it, the small spot on Central Avenue is turning 10.
Owner Bill Georgiou is staple in the St. Pete community. He’s animated, passionate, and represents all that has driven the small business boom in the ‘Burg. That the Burg Bar & Grill, a shop serving up, as I said before, the best damn potato chips in the state, in addition to hearty burgers, melty Cuban sandwiches, and tons of beers on draft, has stayed the course and maintained a loyal following in the Sunshine City is wonderful.

Sister restaurant, The Burg Diner
Georgiou also owns a diner concept, The Burg Diner, located at 2950 49th Street North. It’s modeled after the old school diners he grew up in. The menu offers a healthy Greek yogurt bar, big omelettes (all about the broccoli cheddar), fluffy slices of French toast, and a seriously great Cuban breakfast sandwich.
