One of St. Pete’s favorite spots for fusion eats has debuted a new taqueria in South Pasadena. Taqueria Moss, presented by Nitally’s Thai-Mex, is now open at 6800 Gulfport Boulevard South, Suite #111.

While Nitally’s in Uptown St. Pete is known for its fusion of Thai and Mexican dishes, Taqueria Moss goes all in on Mexican street and comfort food, led by Chef Moss Marco, a native of Huayatenco, Mexico. Available to-go or for on-site dining, the restaurant showcases a wide variety of appetizers, tacos, quesadillas, birria, burritos, and bowls.

In addition to the tasty eats, Taqueria Moss also serves Jarritos, wine, sangria, and a mix of domestic and Mexican beers. The restaurant is open Wednesday-Sunday from 11 am – 11 pm. See the full menu here.

The meat and cheese-forward menu offers up a variety of dishes cooked to-order, as the street tacos and burritos have become quick stars, coming in several different varieties. In addition to veggie options and staples like chorizo and pollo verde, tacos and burritos are also available with suadero (slow-cooked beef confit), crispy tripe, birria, grilled shrimp, and carnitas.

Massive quesadillas come stuffed with similar options, while the quesabirria taco platter offers up three corn tortillas filled with traditional slow-simmered birria beef, melted cheese, onions and cilantro, all flat-grilled and served with a side of consommé.

For starters, Taqueria Moss dishes up piling plates of nachos (add birria or shrimp if you’re feeling extra hungry), chorizo cheese dip, taquitos, Mexican street corn, and of course, chips and salsa. The consommé birria is also available as an appetizer.

The location was originally a beach-adjacent outpost of Nitally’s Thai-Mex, but the company made the switch to the new concept in September. The original Nitally’s is open in St. Pete at 1163 9th Street North, Wednesday-Saturday.
