Sunsets at Pier 60 is back in Clearwater after back-to-back hurricanes temporarily halted the beloved event. Since its launch on March 17, 1995, this nearly 30-year-old celebration has brought nightly sunset festivities to the iconic Pier 60 (7 Causeway Blvd), inviting locals and tourists to enjoy Clearwater’s scenic beauty. It shows that this beautiful area is still shining.

“We’re thrilled to return, now setting up in Pier 60 Park from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.,” organizers shared on Facebook. “With the fishing pier temporarily closed, we’re bringing the magic of Sunsets to the park with all your favorites: artisans, talented street performers, and the breathtaking sunsets you love.”

A free, family-friendly tradition in Clearwater

Organized by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Sunsets at Pier 60 provides free, family-friendly entertainment, promoting Clearwater Beach and Pinellas County as top tourism destinations. The festival adds value to beachgoers’ experiences, drawing evening crowds to enjoy a variety of entertainment after a day in the sun.

Over the years, Sunsets at Pier 60 has hosted popular events like Beach Fest, the Caribbean Christmas Art Show, and FantaSea of Lights. In 2013, it teamed up with the City of Clearwater to introduce the well-loved Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival.

For nearly three decades, Sunsets at Pier 60 has supported cultural and educational use of public spaces, providing a platform for artists and street performers to share their talents. This year-round celebration also boosts the local economy, creating income opportunities for artisans and entertainers and generating positive economic impact for the community.
