We can hardly wait for Sunshine Kitty Cat Cafe to open in the ‘Burg. We wish it would just open meow. The wait is almost over. The owners announced on Facebook that they’re deep in the opening process, and that a soft opening could take place in March. A specific date is still TBA.

What is a catfe? It’s a small cafe where customers can watch and play with cats while they enjoy a coffee/tea. Sunshine Kitty Catfe has partnered with Friends of Strays, which means all of the cats you’re playing with at the cafe will be up for adoption.

Cuddles, cats, and coffee, it’s the holy trinity of self-care.

Follow Sunshine Kitty on Facebook, Instagram and on its website for updates on a menu, hours, and kittens up for adoption.

Sunshine Kitty Catfe will be located at 1669 1st Avenue South in St. Petersburg, Florida.

That space, once an art gallery and an executive law office will now serve a dual purpose as a cafe and temporary home for a few adoptable cats from Friends of Strays.

If you’re interested in helping homeless kittens and cats in the Sunshine City, you can also visit Friends of Strays website for info about pets in need.
