Harvey’s 4th Street Grill celebrates 38 years in St. Pete

Interior of a restaurant with local memorabilia on the walls

Harvey’s 4th Street Grill is the ultimate spot in St. Pete for grouper sandwiches, hearty burgers, and amazing breakfasts. The owners opened their doors on 4th Street in St. Petersburg more than 38 years ago — and the restaurant has gained a massive following over the decades.

“Same small business, and same family still owning and operating Harvey’s since 1984. Help us celebrate 38 years in beautiful St. Pete Florida on Friday, April 1. Thank you to all for the support over the years!” wrote the owners in an Instagram post celebrating their upcoming anniversary.

The interior is brimming with local history. Owner Dan Harvey outfitted his restaurant with remnants from St. Pete landmarks. The decor seems to add just an extra bit of flavor to each dish.

The interior features floorboards pulled from The Vinoy and old slate blackboards pulled from local schools. Their front doors were originally the front doors of the Sunshine School on St. Pete Beach. Harvey’s late night Full Moon Parties-featuring chef specials and drink deals are consistently can’t-miss occasions.

The restaurant continues its commitment to serving some of the best food in the Burg. It’s in good company too. Just down 4th Street North is the famous El Cap Restaurant. It’s also not far from the new On the Fly Food Hall and Jay & Luigis Italian Restaurant.

Their broccoli bites, grouper nuggets and red eye shrimp are the ultimate appetizer combination. The patty melt is beyond words. If you want a serious brunch, you can visit them starting at 9am on Sunday and indulge in the egg sardou (poached eggs with creamed spinach and artichoke on a toasted english muffin).
