St. Pete Now Has an Online Farmers’ Market

With farm to table all the rage today, St. Pete’s Saturday Morning Market has taken it one step further and gone farm to tablet. That’s right, you can now order fresh local food direct — from the inter webs — whether that’s on your tablet, laptop, or mobile.

The Saturday Morning Market at Al Lang Stadium is still a sight to see and one experience that tops the things to do in St. Pete. Don’t just take our word for it either, their web presence is already solidified through sites like TripAdvisor. But not everyone’s schedule will align with the weekly market, so it’s nice to have another go-to option for homegrown, artisan fares and goods.

They’ll be expanding what’s offered through their site every week, but a quick look today already reveals plenty of grains, greens, and fungi. There’s also soups, spices, citrus, and teas. Log on to http://stpetersburg.localfoodmarketplace.com to register and shop.

Orders can be placed from Sunday at 3pm and through Tuesday till 7pm, with pickup on Thursday afternoons from 4pm–7pm. You’ll need to choose between two locations: Jet Jackson Center at Wildwood Park and 1114 Central in the downtown EDGE District (direct neighbors to our new spot!). Remember to bring a bag to carry your food home and some form of payment. Saturday Morning Market not only accepts food assistance programs like fruit and veggie vouchers and prescription cards, they even match SNAP/EBT up to $20!

It’s exciting to see convenience and community combine for more access to clean, sustainable food and goods in the Sunshine City.
