Sport and Social opened

A new sports bar, Sports & Social, quietly debuted on August 31 at 1235 4th St. S. Co-Owners Mark Whitehill and Ricky Cheely are collaborating with beloved pizza spot, Nicko’s, next door to whip up mouthwatering bar-style fare. A grand opening will follow within the month.

“We are classifying ourselves as a cozy sports bar,” says Whitehill. With ample televisions throughout, a full liquor bar, and a killer food menu, Sports & Social may become our new favorite spot to unwind on game day. 12 domestic and foreign beers are on tap (a snazzy chiller keeps the beer at 30 degrees when it hits your glass). For those seeking a stiffer drink, we highly suggest the Watermelon Margarita or the Black Berry Bramble 1984.

While enjoying the game imbibe at the full liquor bar. Specialties include cocktails like the Watermelon Margarita, Kentucky Maid, and Blackberry Bramble 1984.

Sports & Social collaborates with Nicko’s Pizza

Sports and Social is teaming up with their neighbor, Nicko’s Pizza, to create the new food menu. While the menu continues to evolve, guests can enjoy pulled pork sandwiches, turkey subs, house salads, hot dogs, and a delicious mahi fish spread.

Pro tip: Stop by Sports & Social on Wednesdays and Thursdays for their Italian beef sliders. They serve these sliders on toasted buns stuffed with gooey mozzarella cheese and piled high with slow-roasted beef. They use the juice from the beef roast, infused with Italian herbs and seasonings, as a savory dipping sauce. To add some heat, they serve spicy giardiniera on the side.

Nicko’s Pizza and Sports & Social will keep some exclusive items that you can only find at one location.
