The Shuck Truck Stops in the EDGE District

A mobile raw bar brings new flavor to the EDGE District. Empire Oyster’s Shuck Truck recently arrived in the lot at the corner of Central Avenue and 10th Street North. The pop up raw bar will be shucking oysters inside Intermezzo (1111 Central Avenue) for the next three months.

Residents will be able to enjoy these delicacies — $1 east coast, $2 west coast oysters — Wednesday through Saturday, from 5:30pm until roughly 9pm. Intermezzo owner Jarret Sabatini debuted his late night cocktail concept at the start of 2017. His drive to continue to innovate Intermezzo’s offerings and bring something altogether new to Burg underscores the renaissance of the EDGE.

Empire Oyster owner Kevin Joseph has a particular passion for oysters. The professional Mermmelier — a term Joseph coined — is an oyster aficionado who holds a deep understanding of, and broad experience with, aquaculture, the oyster business and marketing. Joseph is also the co-founder and CEO of The Oysterhood, “a global, oyster-centric, omni-media, platform presenting programing and content for and about those who consume and/or trade in oysters.”
