A first-of-its-kind doggy paradise is coming to Grand Central this fall

A first-of-its-kind doggy paradise is coming to Grand Central this fall

The Puppy Nums stand at the St. Pete Pier

Get your paws ready – paradise for dogs is coming to the Grand Central District with a new shop and daycare opening this fall. Puppy Nums is a combination shop, daycare, and grooming facility for dogs opening in a 4,000-square-foot space at 1912 Central Avenue.

The sprawling hub will have everything dogs and their humans need, seven days a week. From a build-your-own doggy ice cream bar and 81 flavors of locally-made dog treats, to pet accessories, air-conditioned boarding, grooming, and a gigantic play area (including a ball pit and splash pools), Puppy Nums will have everything a dog could ever want, all under one roof.

A dog shop pop-up at a brewery

Puppy Nums is a St. Pete success story that got its start when the owners began making their own healthy dog treats after options at the big stores failed them. They started selling five flavors at first, and they grew in popularity so much that they now make 81 different varieties and have become a favorite at the St. Pete Pier Marketplace.

This newest venture is the logical next step for Puppy Nums, as they combine their passion for pups with their business acumen. While pet stores can be found on seemingly any corner, the laundry list of products and services Puppy Nums offers sets them apart – not to mention the all-natural treats are made locally by the owners themselves.

The shop portion of Puppy Nums will include all of their treats, as well as a variety of goods you won’t find anywhere else. They even have real antler chews from moose, elk and deer, which they slow bake for a full week (with no preservatives or sprayed-on additives) to ensure they last and don’t splinter. Be sure to check out the online store, where you can have all items delivered straight to your door.

Puppy Nums ups the game for daycare and boarding

Meanwhile, the daycare, grooming and boarding portion of Puppy Nums will be one of the most all-inclusive in St. Pete. They will offer individual suites as well as group areas, and the entire facility is air-conditioned for the comfort of the pups. The daycare and boarding facility is staffed 24/7 year-round, all staff are trained in pet CPR and medication administration, and they even offer access to a live video stream so clients can check on their dogs any time.

In fact, Puppy Nums will even offer a popular pet taxi service for trips to the groomer, shopping, or just a day at the park or an outing. Some of their daycare packages include free pet taxi service for pickup and drop-off of the pet, giving the client ultimate convenience.

And if you want to get to know them before you put your beloved furball in their hands, you can stop by to socialize, as they plan to hold regular ‘yappy hours’ for pets and pet parents to enjoy refreshments and make new friends. Plus, it’s an excellent excuse for the build-your-own doggy ice cream bar (pups can even choose their favorite toppings).
