Popular indie bookstore is open again in the EDGE District — for a limited time.

Popular indie bookstore is open again in the EDGE District — for a limited time.

The indie bookstore Tombolo Books is by far one of our favorites to shop at. It may not be a massive vault like L.A.’s The Last Bookstore or New York’s Strand, but it packs all the damn heart, whimsy and intellect pulsating through the state in its quaint shop in the EDGE District.

While Tombolo hasn’t had a permanent shop in some time, its still made its presence felt at local festivals and markets. It just reopened in the Central Arade at 1114 Central Avenue. Yes, that’s the same Arcade it popped up in when it first debuted in the Sunshine City. This time around, Tombolo is front and center.

Why do we love Tombolo Books?

Well, for starters the shops extensive collection of books written by Florida writers. This state has experienced an astonishing literary renaissance and the movement is on full display at this shop.

We also fully support any business that’s trying to inspire adults and kids to read and write. Their myriad author events and partnerships with out businesses and nonprofits in Tampa Bay is an example of how you can make a difference in the Sunshine City.

Did you know they run book clubs with both The Body Electric Yoga and St. Pete Running Company?

Only open for a limited time

The hours at the store are limited. The exact hours and length of their stay in the EDGE District are still TBD.

Follow the bookstore on Facebook for updates on author events and store hours.
