Exciting news for local food enthusiasts: Pepper Lunch, the popular teppanyaki-style restaurant, is set to open its doors in Pinellas Park. The new location will be situated at 4699 Park Blvd. and is expected to begin serving customers in September 2024.

For those unaware (me included), teppanyaki is a word derived from teppan, the metal plate on which food is cooked, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried. So, it literally means ‘grilling on an iron plate’. The dishes cooked using an iron plate include meat, seafood, and noodles.

The upcoming Pepper Lunch outlet will occupy a 1,435-square-foot building, featuring a 38-seat indoor dining area and a 500-square-foot patio, which will accommodate an additional 25 outdoor seats.

A unique Japanese dining experience in Pinellas Park

“Pepper Lunch offers a uniquely different dining experience, with authentic, approachable food,” explained Troy Hooper, Pepper Lunch CEO. “With experienced local operators in the Majestic Restaurant Group, we’re looking forward to getting the doors open in the coming months so St. Petersburg-area residents can discover what makes Pepper Lunch one of the most popular concepts in the world.”

Pepper Lunch is renowned for its affordable and interactive dining experience. The restaurant’s novel menu includes a variety of sizzling steaks, curry rice, teriyaki, and pasta-based dishes, all prepared on the brand’s patented hot iron plate. A standout favorite is the signature Pepper Rice, a must-try for first-time visitors and regulars alike.
