Exciting news for local food enthusiasts: Pepper Lunch, the popular teppanyaki-style restaurant, will open its doors in Pinellas Park at 4699 Park Blvd. The new location will officially welcome customers on March 3.
For those unfamiliar (myself included), teppanyaki comes from the words teppan (the metal plate on which food is cooked) and yaki (meaning grilled, broiled, or pan-fried). It refers to “grilling on an iron plate,” and the dishes prepared on the plate feature meat, seafood, and noodles.

The new Pepper Lunch will occupy a 1,435-square-foot building, featuring a 38-seat indoor dining area and a 500-square-foot patio that offers 25 additional outdoor seats.
“Pepper Lunch offers a uniquely different dining experience, with authentic, approachable food,” said Troy Hooper, CEO of Pepper Lunch. “With experienced local operators in the Majestic Restaurant Group, we look forward to opening our doors so St. Petersburg-area residents can discover why Pepper Lunch is one of the most popular concepts worldwide.”
Known for its affordable, interactive dining, Pepper Lunch’s menu features a wide variety of sizzling steaks, curry rice, teriyaki, and pasta-based dishes—all cooked on the brand’s patented hot iron plate. A fan favorite, the signature Pepper Rice is a must-try for first-time visitors and regulars alike.
