Massive block party for pets returns to Kenwood this April

St. Pete’s biggest pet celebration is set to return on April 24. The Pawjama Block Party Brunch is a massive pajama party in the streets of Historic Kenwood, thrown for the enjoyment of pets and their humans alike.

This year’s theme is “Arabian Dreams” and pajamas are strongly encouraged. The event features a DJ, cash bars, food trucks, drag superstars, a photo booth and dazzling décor all through the block. Taking place on Sunday, April 24 from 11 am – 3 pm, Pawjama Party is located on the 2400 Block of 7th Avenue N between 24th and 25th Streets in Historic Kenwood.

The party serves a dual function, also acting as a fundraiser for SPCA Tampa Bay, the area’s only for-all shelter. Frank Clemente began the Pawjama Party several years ago as a way to celebrate his birthday in his preferred fashion – surrounded by dogs, cats, drinks and food. What started small quickly ballooned to an event that now draws thousands of area animals and owners each year.

This year, Clemente turns 60 and is going all out for the occasion. And as always, he asks that no presents be given to him, but instead consider a donation to SPCA Tampa Bay. This family and pet friendly event is said to be everything you love about Sunday Brunch, “only bigger, brighter, and in your PAWjamas!”

Organizers describe it as a day full of “lounging out in the middle of the street with those you love, furry friends in tow, enjoying great food, drink, live entertainment and over the top décor.” Afterwards, join the crew for after-parties in your PJ’s at Dog Bar St. Pete and Cocktail St Pete.
