We are elated to announce that Paradise Grille, one of our favorite Pinellas County haunts, is back nearly four months after the hurricanes. Located in historic Pass-a-Grille at 900 Gulf Way, the unassuming yellow building is just steps away from the pristine Gulf waters, making it the go-to spot for flip-flop-clad beachgoers.
Paradise Grille has seen its share of prestigious visitors. Reports tell us that members of Pink Floyd and U2 have dined here, along with icons like Jimmy Buffet and Paul McCartney. Even my colleague’s grandmother—who only visited Pinellas County three times—called it her favorite place on the beach. Locals return almost daily for cool drinks and a game of cornhole. I even spent my undergraduate years working there, pouring beer, mixing drinks, and sweating profusely. Needless to say, everyone treasures this beachside gem.

Beloved bell tradition continues
In addition to being one of the best spots to grab a beer and a bite (while fending off cheeky seagulls), Paradise Grille hosts one of our favorite St. Pete traditions: the ringing of the sunset bell. Each evening, someone gets to ring an old ship bell right beside the sea wall—a nightly ritual that draws locals and visitors alike, reminding everyone to be thankful for another beautiful day. Even after the hurricanes, the bell stands tall, ringing out sonorously as a symbol of resilience and community.
