Mio’s Grill grand opens in downtown St. Pete

Mio’s Grill grand opens in downtown St. Pete

Plate of falafel from Mio's Grill & Cafe in downtown St. Pete

Another day, another restaurant opening. As far as we’re concerned, just keep the burgers, and the falafel, coming. Mio’s grill just opened downtown in the former Meze location on 2nd Street North.

The cafe and grill features a Mediterranean-inspired menu with some vegetarian options. We’ve yet to sample it ourselves; however, we’ve browsed the menu to point out a few featured items that have our attention.

Mio’s Pepperoni seems like the kind of snack we’d crave on one of the rare cool days in Florida. It’s a special pressed toasted sandwich with pepperoni, mozzarella, dried oregano, and tomatoes. The Kofte platter also appears to be a guaranteed crowd pleaser. It’s Mio’s ground lamb meatballs with garlic, parsley, and Mediterranean seasonings. Count us in.

Mio’s also boasts a half pound melted mozzarella cheese burger. Challenge accepted, Mio’s.

Greek seasoned fries, falafel, hummus, pita bread, mozzarella sticks, hearty Greek salads and more staples make appearances on the menu, too.
