The MICHELIN Guide is expanding to St. Pete-Clearwater. Currently, the Florida guide covers Tampa, Miami, and Orlando. Nearby Tampa restaurants like Rocca, Kosen, Koya, Ebbe, and Lilac have earned prestigious stars, while others have received Bib Gourmand awards. More restaurants have also been added to the guide.
The 2025 selection will also include restaurants in Greater Fort Lauderdale and The Palm Beaches. Beginning in 2026, the guide will grow further to become a state-wide selection covering all of Florida.

“Florida continues to raise the bar with its emerging culinary talent, international influences, and the palpable passion of its local restaurant communities,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides. “Over the past three years, we’ve seen the Florida selection grow and strengthen as our Inspectors shined a spotlight on their discoveries. We look forward to exploring these new destinations and highlighting the excellence of their local restaurant scene.”
Expanding to cover the entire state of Florida in 2026
The MICHELIN Guide’s anonymous Inspectors are already in the field, making dining reservations and scouting for culinary gems in the new territories. The full 2025 restaurant selection will be revealed at a later date during the annual MICHELIN Guide ceremony for Florida.
“The MICHELIN Guide’s expansion into three additional Florida destinations in 2025 and statewide in 2026 further cements the state as a premier culinary destination for both locals and visitors. Florida’s rich and diverse culinary scene has long been a cornerstone of the vacation experience, and we are thrilled that more talented chefs and exceptional restaurants across the state will now receive the recognition they deserve,” said Dana Young, President and CEO of VISIT FLORIDA.
A celebration of St. Pete’s culinary scene
Globally recognized for excellence and quality, the MICHELIN Guide highlights world-class restaurants. The iconic one-, two-, and three-star designations mark establishments offering exceptional cuisine, rich in flavor and reflecting the creativity of talented chefs. Bib Gourmand awards recognize restaurants that deliver great food at good value, often favored by inspectors when dining on their own time. The MICHELIN Green Star honors restaurants leading the way in sustainable gastronomy.
The MICHELIN Guide continues to be a trusted resource for travelers seeking top-notch dining experiences. Originally published in France in the early 1900s to encourage tire sales by providing practical advice to motorists, the guide now covers more than 35 countries. Michelin inspectors continue to apply the same rigorous criteria and methods that have defined the guide from the beginning.
Let’s hope the expansion to St. Pete shines a brighter spotlight on our growing culinary scene.
Florida currently has 25 restaurants with one MICHELIN star and one restaurant with two MICHELIN stars. See the full list here.
