UPDATE: Due to inclement weather, the Tater Tot Throw Down was postponed. The event will now be held on Friday, August 23, from 6-11pm at Albert Whitted Park.
Gotta have my tots. Yes, tater tots are life, and CHEESY tater tots are tasty gods among us. Food trucks in Tampa Bay get it, that’s why they’re coming together on August 23 for the Tater Tot Throw Down at Albert Whitted Park. The event is free to attend, but you’ll have to fork over some dough if you want to indulge in those tasty tots.
The event runs from 6-11pm, which gives you five hours to have your fill of fried flaky spuds. The throw down is naturally put together by the Gulf to Bay Food Truck Association. They’re basically food event royalty at this point.
Maggie on the Move has already teased a bowl of cheesy crabby tots. Gulf to Bay also highlighted a plate of LOBSTER tots, and we are all about having a few New England staples in the Sunshine City.
Is the tater tot throw down pet-friendly? Yes, of course it is. This is a St. Pete event after all. It’s also advertised as family-friendly, but it won’t be without it’s more mature offerings. Plenty of local craft beers, and pitchers of sangria will also be available.

Albert Whitted Park is located at 480 Bayshore Drive Southeast.
