Cheers! You won’t need to wait until St. Patrick’s day to get decked out in green in downtown St. Petersburg. A brand new Irish Tavern from the owners of The Galley will make its official debut on February 22. Mary Margaret’s, located at 29 3rd Street North in the former Sea Dog Brew Pub space, will be a space for Irish-inspired drinks, bites, and entertainment.

The Celtic Conundrum will be the first band to play in the space. This band gathers influence from traditional Irish music as well as more contemporary acts. It’s a hodge-podge of sounds from across the globe, hence the conundrum. The concert runs from 8-11pm on February 22.

Live music arrives at new Irish brunch hub

Here’s the current concert lineup at Mary Margaret’s in St. Pete:

Feb. 23: Alicia Merrit & Coddle Stew, noon-3pm

March 12: St. Patrick’s Day Begins! Celtic Conundrum, 8-11pm

March 14: Whiskey Dregs, noon-4pm

March 15: St. Patrick’s Day Brunch with Celtic Conundrum, 1-4pm

The menu already looks impressive, with ample starches to help soak up a proper pint. You can count me in for the Stout Pub Poutine with Guinness Gravy, and Mr. Pibb Ribbz. Mary Margaret’s will also serve proper Irish soda bread from Swah-Rey.

Irish cheddar melts on the menu

Hey wrestling fans, you’ll definitely want to experience the Fit Finlay chicken platter. If it’s anything like the revered sports entertainment star, it’s sure to be of the highest caliber.

Other items of note include the Irish Cheddar Melt, the rack of lamb, the ole pub turkey club, Fla. Fish and Chips, and of course corned beef and cabbage.

Don’t sleep on the desserts! The listed sweet offerings include a Rocky Road to Dublin Sunday with a shot of Baileys, and a 3 layer Irish cream cake.

Experimental Irish cocktail menu

If you’re down to brunch, you’ll need to make Mary Margaret’s a Sunday tradition, specifically for the Irish Boxty Pancakes.

What’s the cocktail menu like at Mary Margaret’s?

It’s perfection.

There’s a proper Irish coffee. This cocktail is an homage to Buena Vista Cafe’s signature international Irish Coffee recipe with Tullamore DEW Irish Whiskey, Kahwa Coffee, brown sugar and cream. Do not stir it!

New must visit whiskey joint in the Sunshine City

If you need more of a pick me up, go for the Irish Breakfast Shooter. This beverage is a mix of Jameson Whiskey and Buttershots served neat with an OJ and bacon chaser.

You can see the entire menu teaser online.

Who needs to visit this Irish Tavern when it opens?

Thirsty for more? A new dessert lounge, Better Than Sex, will debut in the EDGE District this year.

Beans & Barlour, a boozy dessert joint, just released its new Girl Scout cookie-inspired milkshake menu too.
