A huge foodie throwdown is coming to the Burg this month— and all of the unrivaled deliciousness is for a worthy cause. PARC, an organization that’s provided opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 65 years, hosts its 5th Annual food-centric fundraiser on August 22 at the Morean Center for Clay (420 22nd Street South). Introducing PARC’s Top Chefs.
So, who’s cooking and what’s on the menu?
The organization just released a full list of food options the night of the event:
BULLA GASTROBAR: Brisket, Tomato Marmalade, Guindilla Pepper, Tetilla Cheese
CALLALOO: Braised Callaloo Greens, Smoked Bacon in a Lobster Three Cheese Macaroni
CARRABBAS ITALIAN GRILL: Braised Short Rib with Cauliflower Gnocchi & Grilled Asparagus
THE LIBRARY: Jumbo scallops , Gouda grits, Pork belly Brussels, Corn puree & Beet Salad
MARCHAND’S BAR & GRILL: Beet Cured Salmon, Charcoal Brioche, Preserved Lemon, Horseradish Powder
METZ CULINARY MANAGEMENT: “Old-fashioned” Meatballs, Garlic Lime Chicken Skewer, Broccoli Kale Slaw with pecans and cranberries
OYSTERCATCHERS: Shrimp Ceviche with a coconut lime sauce
RUSTY’S BISTRO: Truffled Maine Lobster Rolls and Summer Salad with Champagne Vinaigrette
BAKE N’ BABES: Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies & Cheesecake Shooters with Lemon Curd
HYPPO GOURMET ICE POPS: Strawberry and Watermelon Gourmet Ice Pops
TOFFEE TO GO: Gooey Toffee Bars and Toffee Macaroons
LOVEMONADE: Lemonade, Hibiscus Tea and Tea-monade (Watermelon and Mint options are available)
MOTHER KOMBUCHA: Jasmine Flower, Blue Rose, Lavender Mojito, Turmeric Ginger Lemonade, Blood Orange Ginger, Hopped Passion Fruit and Gogi Grape
KAHWA COFFEE: Espresso Drinks and Drip Coffee
The chefs will be paired with individuals from PARC who have received culinary training to collaborate on entrées. Signature drinks and decadent desserts will also be provided throughout the night, and guests will get the opportunity to place their vote for categories like Fan Favorite, Best All Around, Best Flavor, Best Presentation and more.
The ooey gooey cakes that The Dessert Spot crafts are mind blowing and we cannot wait to pair up their treats with a hot cup of Kahwa coffee. Better yet, cool down with a fruity ice pop from The Hyppo and sink your teeth into the golden avocado treats from The Library.
