Main Library: Reading Since the 60’s

The Main Library located at 3745 9th Ave. N will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on February 22. In 1964, the prose hostel opened its doors and shelves to the collective knowledge and introspections of writers and researchers bold enough to put their braincells in a dust jacket.

In honor of its 50th birthday, the Main Library is collecting memories of the 60’s in St. Pete. If you’re a ‘Burger with a campfire memoir fermenting in your mind come to the Main Library on February 22nd and add a treasure to the shelf of this 8mm nostalgia shop. The library will be offering food, live music, a menagerie of St. Pete history with a slideshow display, 60’s trivia and more. Contemporary St. Pete has been lauded as a haven for foodies and beer geeks, a cultural capital with some of the most innovative artists and a destination that should be marked on the map of every cosmopolitan. On February 22, take your spade to the sunshine city soil and uncover the roots that have grown this city into the paradise that it is today.
