News that The Local 662 would be leaving the 600 Block this month caused many local music fans to despair. The venue has long offered a platform for rising musicians to showcase their gifts to the public.

A home for music fanatics
Whether it’s the adrenaline rush of punk, the introspective allure of indie, or the bone rattling roar of rock, The Local 662 is a home for fans of all genres. On June 16, the venue will host the Last Rock N Roll Show.
This free all ages show will feature performances by King Complex, Sonic Graffiti, Pleasures and Luxury Mane. Doors open at 9pm and the event runs through 2am.

Local 662 introduces the public to rising stars
On June 24, The Local 662 will play host to Blitz 3. The 3rd annual hard rock event brings Polar Summer, Murder the Crow, Almondy Brown, Chronologic, Drastic Fall, Aegea, and Didges Christ Superdrum to Central Avenue.
The show begins at 6pm and goes until 11:45pm. Admission is $7 for those over the age of 21, and $10 for those younger than 21.This venue was the first place we ever saw the Burg icons Wolf-Face perform. The Local 662 also introduced us to Zulu Wave and Buffalo Buffalo.
We’d like to say thank you to everyone at The Local 662 who made this space so special to so many residents, visitors and bands. You’re what makes St. Pete special. We say farewell this month with the hope that the Local stage will find a new home soon.
