Last chance! freeFall Theatre’s Buyer and Cellar closes this weekend

What would you do if you had seemingly unlimited money and everything you could ever want? What would you do if you were as extra as Barbra Streisand and had seemingly unlimited money and everything you could ever want?

If your first answer wasn’t immediately, “I’d build a basement in my second house that’s actually a fully-functioning mall,” YOU’RE NOT BEING EXTRA ENOUGH.

That’s right, folks. Barbra Streisand built a mall in her basement, complete with a doll shop, frozen yogurt stop, antique store, and gift shoppe. Check out the house photos from Harper’s Bazaar’s photoshoot with Babs herself.

Which is also how Jonathan Tollins opens his play, Buyer and Cellar. This show is about the real life phenomenon that is Barbra Streisand’s basement mall. He invites audiences to imagine what it could be like to be the ONLY worker in the icon’s utopia and freeFall Theatre brings that story to life on stage.

Chris Crawford (freeFall Theatre: Peter and the Starcatcher, Orlando Shakes: The Hound of the Baskervilles) delivers a tour-de-force every night. This one-man-show is 100 minutes of pure energy that keeps the audience laughing for almost all of it. The content is funny, but Crawford’s pure comedic talent is what brings it home.

Meet Crawford in this fun video from freeFall Theatre!
