We love the ‘Burg, and we really love Texas BBQ. A new spot for slow smoked meats has officially opened on MLK Street in the Sunshine City, and it’s offering up pure meat candy.

La Salle’s BBQ soft opened in St. Petersburg in December of 2020. The owners hope to infuse their passion for good Texas barbecue into their new home city. When you visit, make sure you order up some Texas Burnt Ends (a most extraordinary feast for the senses). Other items include Wagyu sausage links, massive cowboy beef ribs, and prime beef brisket.

Hungry for something handheld?

Sink your teeth into a “Smoking Cuban” sandwich. It’s a Texas take on a Cuban sandwich with chopped prime brisket, cheese, mustard and pickles. It’s served on fresh baked traditional Cuban bread. I can already hear that satisfying pressed Cuban bread crunch.

The signature sandwich here is the Pit Boss. Indulge in a meat lovers delight with brisket, Wagyu Beef Jalapeño and Cheese Sausage stacked on Texas toast with LaSalle’s housemade barbecue sauce.

“LaSalle’s Barbecue was born out of a desire to retain the heart and soul of authentic old school Central Texas barbecue and bring that to the residents of Tampa Bay,” write the Steve Lasalle and Wayne Andrews, LaSalle’s owners, in the business’s mission statement.

“Enjoy our 15 hour slow-smoked brisket, custom-made Wagyu beef sausage and our dinosaur beef ribs as well many other classic options.”
