After long anticipation, LALA St. Pete is finally open. Located on the opposite side of the property also housing Grand Central Brewhouse on Central Avenue, LALA is an upscale American and Mediterranean restaurant and bar featuring seven private karaoke rooms, as well as rooftop dining. Reservations are now available for the karaoke rooms, and their bar and kitchen are open daily.

LALA will be open for lunch, brunch and dinner (and karaoke, of course) seven days a week and will have a dining room, a garden and rooftop terrace for non-singing guests, and seven private and full-service themed karaoke rooms for groups both small and large.

Herraiz said they are thrilled to finally share their concept with St. Pete, especially with how much growth the neighborhood in Grand Central has seen since this project first began.

“We love the neighborhood,” he said. “We signed the lease two years ago. It’s very interesting to see how in two years the whole neighborhood has changed and so much has popped up. We are very happy and proud to be in this area.”

Restaurant side to offer upscale dishes and tropical cocktails

Herraiz was quick to point out that you don’t have to do karaoke to enjoy dinner and drinks at LALA. In fact, he hopes the chef-curated menu will help draw people in looking for a high-end meal in a fun setting.

While the full menu has not yet been shared publicly, the restaurant did let us in on a few of the secrets. Appetizers include scallops, truffles, charcuterie boards and salads, including a niçoise salad they expect to become a favorite. Notable “upscale” entrees include beef bourguignon and filet mignon, among others.

The restaurant will also offer some more handheld and karaoke-friendly bites with flatbreads, wings, burgers and other sandwiches. In fact, several of those items will become available at Grand Central Brewhouse, as well. While the brewery doesn’t have a kitchen of its own, beer drinkers will be able to order select items from LALA while enjoying the vibes at GCB.

As for the drinks at LALA, Herraiz says to expect a craft cocktail list heavy on tropical influence while still showcasing many of the classics, in addition to wine and beer lists.

The restaurant’s roopftop terrace and bar will offer full service dining and drinks and will also be available for private parties.

Seven private karaoke rooms are individually themed

On the musical side of things, LALA is excited to finally unveil their karaoke set up. Rather than taking place on a stage at a bar for everyone to see and hear, there are seven individual karaoke rooms that groups can reserve for up to two hours. The various sizes allow for groups as small as just a few or up to 16 people.

Karaoke room reservations include a dedicated server for food and drinks, giving revelers an intimate and entertaining dining experience. Arraiz is particularly excited to unveil what he calls the “surprising” themed setup and décor for each room. Themes at opening will include rooms styled to a disco hall, a jazzy New York-style speakeasy, and a recording studio.

As of now, LALA plans to open from 11 am – 1 am Sunday-Thursday, and 11 am – 3 am Friday and Saturday. Check back here we share more updates on menu and grand opening.
