A pair of local institutions are teaming up to help some of St. Pete’s most creative children get a head start on entrepreneurship. BayFirst National Bank and Indie Flea Market announced a new program called Kids’ Flea Pop Up that aims to provide resources and opportunities for the young business minds of the Burg.
The monthly pop up market will take place alongside Indie Flea’s second Sunday market every month, beginning this Sunday, January 8 when Indie Flea showcases 100+ local vendors and makers from 12-4 pm. This interactive and community focused pop up will provide kids with financial mentorship, small business guidance and a fun, accessible platform to experience the ins and outs of being an entrepreneur.

The partnership between Indie Flea and BayFirst, led by Rosey Williams and Stacia Schraeder, allows the two entities to use their combined networks in support the hundreds of small businesses Indie Flea represents. Beyond the kids pop up, the duo plans to incorporate fun events, such as happy hours, into the market experience, as well as providing exciting new ways for the vendors to develop their businesses’ next steps.
BayFirst National Bank will help guide them through obtaining access to small business funding and other lending options and financial tools and services that can make a business more successful.
