Wow. Talk about a morning jolt. ABC Action News reported this morning that John’s Pass Village, the popular collection of dockside shops, restaurants, and water sports, was just bought for $17.2 million by developer Ben Mallah.
The developer says John’s Pass has been in a bit of a slump since the recession. More than a decade later, some much needs improvements are about to be made. Expect a ton of aesthetic changes, including a literal and metaphorical fresh coat of paint to be applied.

Mallah also owns the parking garage, which he plans to improve. If you’ve tried finding a spot during the area’s busiest tourist season, you’ll know how chaotic it can be to get in/out.
The shops that are there will stay there. Mallah hopes to work with current tenants to make sure all renovations/construction can run smoothly, while upgrading the business ecosystem these retailers contribute to.
Planned updates will take about a year to complete, according to ABC Action News.
