Why do I Love the ‘Burg? Too many reasons to county. The waterfront parks, the wealth of murals, the extraordinary museums, Eckerd College, the dog-friendly environment of St. Pete, the superb literary community here, and so much more.

In times like these it’s important to focus on the good in the world. That focus is by no means meant to distract anyone from the work that needs to be done to make this city, this state, and the world just a bit better day by day. No, focusing on the good for just a moment reminds us why the work we’re doing now is so important.

Why do I Love the ‘Burg? I Love the ‘Burg because it’s home. I didn’t grow up in St. Petersburg, but it didn’t take long for me to feel like I was welcomed into this community. Pulling some inspiration from the NPR Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast, we at ILTB have launched a brand new group called “What’s Making Us Happy – St. Pete”

This is a group dedicated to things, both big and small, that are bringing us joy daily. This can be an experience at a restaurant, a new mural you just saw on a walk, a gorgeous sunrise at Vinoy Park, or just catching live music downtown. This is a group about all the good things in the Sunshine City.

We welcome you to join the group and help spread some Sunshine. Give a shout out to a locally-owned business you love, or say thanks to a neighbor that just made your day.
