Hollander Hotel owner purchases historic property in Grand Central District

Looks like big things are happening in the Grand Central District. The district’s latest newsletter revealed that Michael Andoniades, owner of The Hollander and Avalon hotels, has purchased historic Mari-Jean Hotel at 2349 Central Avenue.

Current plans include a boutique hotel, restaurant and bar, according to the newsletter. More details should be revealed in the next edition. You can subscribe here to keep up with all the Grand Central District news.

Urban Brew is on the move

That’s not all that’s happening in the GCD. Urban Brew & BBQ, a restaurant integral to the renaissance of the district, will be moving. The restaurant will leave its current location at 1939 Central Avenue, and merge with Urban Comfort at 2601 Central Avenue.

The restaurant plans to reopen the first week of January, 2019.
