“Now and always, we at Green Bench Brewing want to use our voice for good,” the owners wrote in a Facebook post. “We want to be a safe haven, a gathering place, or resting spot for who needs it.”

1,037 breweries in all 50 states are participating.

Purchase 4 packs of the specially brewed beer

Four packs of this imperial stout are $22 and available for pickup at Green Bench, located at 1133 Baum Avenue North.

The Black is Beautiful initiative is a collaborative effort amongst the brewing community and its customers, in an attempt to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily. The collaborative’s mission is to bridge the gap that’s been around for ages and provide a platform to show that the brewing community is an inclusive place for everyone of any color.

Organizers are asking for all breweries and brewers far and wide to raise a glass with us in unison and participate in this collaboration.

Each brewery putting their own spin on recipe

Weathered Souls provided the recipe for the base of the stout, but each brewery put their own spin on the recipe.
