Giant art gallery, book shop and toy store, Cultosaurus, is opening in the Burg

Cultosaurus is already epic in our eyes. The exterior features a giant red dino mural courtesy of Derek Donnelly — and the prolific St. Pete artist has state that he’ll be adding a bevy of pop culture icons to the building soon.

Located at 269 16th Street North, Cultosaurus is an emporium of imaginative toys perfectly suited for ardent collectors and those who can’t help but fully unbox the creation.

Exit through the gift shop

Visitors can browse figures from animated gems like SpongeBob, Futurama and The Simpsons. Teasers on social media have also revealed a vault of wild art books that’ll take you on a neon tour of the works of Skinner, or the selected works of Rob and Christian Clayton.

Another post showed a glass bust of Adam West’s groovy grey and blue batman. Basically, it’s a dream come true.

We’re more than happy to exit through the gift shop here. It’s a place to indulge in your creative, nostalgic and deep-rooted pop culture cravings, and a place to discover new art that challenges you.

It's happening! Derek Donnelly

Pop Culture’s finest under one roof

Where else are you going to find the Incredible Hulk, the Lucky Charms mascot and Ronald McDonald all in one place?

An opening timeline has not been set yet, but you can follow along on Cultosaurus’s Facebook page for updates.

Need more art in your life?

Derek Donnelly is hosting a special Wizard of Oz exhibit at COVE in Pinellas Park. During the 4th Saturday Art Walk on April 27, COVE will premiere the OZ 3D ride by Pompeii Monster Factory, in addition to its immersive exhibit. Click here for full details.
