Creating Backyard Habitat for Birds
Saturday, June 30 from 10:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. Increase the number and diversity of birds in your landscape by following the advice of Sensing Nature’s Wildlife Biologist Jeanne Murphy. Learn what providing food, water, and cover, and being sensitive to the seasonal needs of resident and migratory species means. Seeds and berries are only part of the story… plants that harbor insects also provide food, especially during nesting season, creating cavities for nesters, and watching how birds use your yard are all ways that will help improve your important slice of Florida habitat. Then after the presentation, put your green thumb to work! Plant a native cutting or some seeds in a pot to take home.
