The taps will be flowing for the first time tomorrow (Wednesday) at The Ale and the Witch. As we reported earlier this month, the alehouse will feature over 30 American craft beers on tap and will host live local music. On Saturday (1.29), you’ll get a chance to hear Geri X perform before she departs on a cross country tour. In true “witch” fashion the Grand Opening Party will take place next Thursday (2.3) in conjunction with the Lunar New Year. The Shiny Shoes Band will be performing.

The Saturday Morning Market introduced two new food vendors with a global twist last week. Fans of Ethiopian food will be happy to know they’ll no longer need to drive over the bridge for the traditional classics. The former owners of Tampa’s Abol Bunna have opened the booth A Taste of Ethiopia. If food with a Spanish twist is more to your liking check out the Venezuelan run My Favorite Food which serves up traditional comforts such as paella, Spanish omelets and flan.
The Saturday Morning Market is located in the parking lot of Al Lang Stadium at 1st Ave. S and 1st St.
Local fave, The St. Pete Brasserie is now open for lunch with a menu heavy on sandwiches, salads and a few hearty entrees such as steak frites and seafood paella. You can start off with Brasserie fave hors d’oeouvres too such as the crab cake, spring roll or mussels. The new hours are Tuesday- Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 12pm-11pm. Closed Sunday and Monday.
