Family-friendly spring break: FloridaRAMA announces playful new installations

FloridaRAMA (2606 Fairfield Ave S.) was already a top-tier destination for its immersive art experiences, and now the St. Pete star has announced an outstanding lineup of new installations and events for the spring break season. Mermaids and pirates are taking over the expansive arts destination, as FloridaRAMA will have extended hours March 17-23 and is hosting a long list of family-friendly and adult-focused events all month long as part of their “Mermaid & Pirate March”.

The highlights of FloridaRAMA’s spring break extravaganza are it’s new pirate ship ball pit installation and pop-up bubble room. Both installations tie into the arts destination’s mysterious Florida-fantastic narrative.

An interactive art installation

Complementing these limited-time installations is the Family Dance Party on Sunday, March 16. The high-energy morning of fun features real-life mermaids, music inside the experience, scavenger hunts, games, and much more. The fun begins at 10 am, complete with a pizza party, and coffee and mimosas are available inside the experience.

Meanwhile, older kids as well as adults will enjoy the “Sirens Silent Disco” on Saturday, March 22 from 7-10 pm. Mermaids and music unite in the mystical silent disco dance party where you can sip on drinks out of a disco ball and dance the night away in a “fin-tastic shell-ebration.” Tickets to the 2nd Annual Silent Disco are available here.

FloridaRAMA guests can always choose from the ever-expanding menu of scavenger hunts, including the brand new “Pesky Pirates & Mystical Mermaid Hunt,” the “Pepe’s Plight” treasure hunt, or even enhance their experience with FloridaRAMA’s “Smile Specs”—hologram glasses that transform any bright light into a prism of smiley faces. Family four-packs are available to make it an easy and affordable day out for the whole family. Learn more here.

Extended hours, big events over spring break

The Family Dance Party is the official kickoff to spring break at FloridaRAMA, which brings an entire week of excitement for kids and adults alike. The “Creative Kids Club” will take place twice, on Friday, March 7 and March 21 from 10 am – 12 pm, providing hands-on fun for little adventurers in collaboration with Sunshine City With Kids. FloridaRAMA will also have its monthly Sensory Saturday for kids with neurodiverse needs on Saturday, March 29 from 10 am – 12 pm.

FloridaRAMA’s extended hours for the week give families plenty of time to fund some fun, indoor, and interactive activities for everyone to enjoy.

FloridaRAMA is Tampa Bay’s premier arts experience

This must-see experience in the Warehouse Arts District is a wonderland of color and creativity. FloridaRAMA, which officially debuted its new and re-branded look last summer, is one of the coolest arts experiences anywhere, and the most immersive you can find in the Tampa Bay region.

Showcasing the work of more than 80 local and international artists, FloridaRAMA is as if Willy Wonka’s factory specialized in experiential art instead of chocolate waterfalls. The sprawling complex is “a world where creativity and technology merge to celebrate weird, wacky and wonderful Florida.”

FloridaRAMA is located at 2606 Fairfield Ave S., and it is more than worth spending a day exploring the immersive world of artistic adventure. There are playful exhibits celebrating Florida’s stories and history; mysterious scavenger hunts buried within the intertwined narrative; a free art gallery showcasing local artists; and even drinks and snacks inside the FloridaRAMA experience.
