FAB #30: Burg Actress Cast in Next Hunger Games

Featured Artist of the Burg (FAB) #30: Eugenie Bondurant

For you Burgers who fell in love with the tour de force heroine Katniss Everdeen and the dystopian Capitol imagined by Suzanne Collins in the Hunger Games trilogy, you are in for a treat. The expertly adapted film franchise, which has taken the YA first-person narrative and transformed it into a cinematic blockbuster, has accrued an all-star cast for the much-anticipated finale.

The Burg’s own Eugenie Bondurant will play the wild character known as Tigris in the franchise’s film finale.

She will be acting with the likes of Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Lawrence, Julianne Moore, Donald Sutherland, Elizabeth Banks, and Stanley Tucci. This wild composite of charisma has successfully made the films and books and indelible part of our cultural canon and shows no signs of halting the trilogy’s unyielding momentum.

Tigris was once a sought after stylist in the Capitol. She is fired from her job after a bit of radical, transformative surgery altered her bone structure and features to resemble that of a Tigers. Her reconstructive surgery was deemed too provocative and extreme for television in the Captiol. Tigris becomes a pivotal figure as she harbors and hides Katniss, Peeta, and Gale from President Snow’s forces in her niche, fur-lined undergarment store. Tigris proves to be more than just a gracious host, the stylist turned shop owner gathers intel for the rebels, risking her life daily for the fugitives she keeps safe.

Eugenie Bondurant is the wife of Paul Wilborn, Executive Director of the Palladium Theater in downtown St. Pete. Bondurant is a cabaret singer and one of the founding members of The Radio Theater Project which is a staple on Studio@620‘s program. Bondurant is a respected acting coach and a staff member at the prestigious Patel Conservatory. She has appeared in cult favorites such as Frasier, Arli$$, Fight Club, and Patsy. The films release date is slated for November 20, 2015. What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than with a healthy dose of anarchy, rebellion and dystopic excess. Congratulations Eugenie Bondurant and may the odds be ever in your favor.
