The final in a three-part lecture series by art historian Dedee Aleccia. Warhol defined Pop art by making commodities, such as Brillo, into art – and making celebrities, like Marilyn Monroe, into commodities. Explore his influence on contemporary Western artists, including Indigenous artists, who use Pop art imagery to challenge cultural myths and confront exploitation.
