The pelvis and legs make up the pelvic girdle. The pelvic girdle is our center and base of support for nearly all our activities. The human body is so wonderfully designed that, unless we’re injured, we rarely think about the relationship between our pelvis and functional movement. We rarely think about how restrictions or freedom around the pelvic girdle determine our comfort when we are at rest or in stillness. With knowledge about your own unique anatomy, you can get so much more out of your yoga practice.
Anatomy Snack Bite: Sacred Pelvis was inspired by Jade’s work in supporting and adjusting students in their asana practice for 15+ years. In this workshop, we will focus on the pelvis.
We’ll explore:
• Articulation of bones of the pelvic girdle
• Muscle groupings and primary actions
• Sacred energy, and how to release stagnation
• How to create mobility in the joints
• Moving in and out of asana safely with new awareness
