Edible Masterpiece: Artisan Food Collective arrives in Gulfport

Love The Lure on the 600 Block? Well the minds behind one of our spot for duck tacos have launched a food collective in Gulfport and it’s everything we hoped it would be.

The collective is made up of five concepts: The Port, The Gallery, The Lure, The Bakery and The Whiskey Grill.

So, what’s on the menu?

Crave-worthy apps at The Port

The Port offers a sensational list of light cocktails — and some gourmet appetizers. If you leave the restaurant without tasting mama’s fried zucchini then you’re doing it wrong. Fresh cut zucchini is stacked in a tower, dusted with parmesan and asiago cheeses and served with red sauce.

When you dine, go big. The Port’s damn good burger is exactly that, damn good. Sink your teeth into 8 ounces of fresh-pressed burger, topped with white cheddar and smoked pepper maple bacon on a brioche bun.

Side note: If you’re looking for something quick and light we’d recommend ordering the Jeanie — citrus steamed jumbo shrimp with ginger cocktail sauce.

Whiskey Grill is a carnivore’s dream

The Whiskey Grill is a carnivore’s paradise. Bone-in tomahawk ribeye: Check. Spiced duck breast: Check. Citrus swordfish steak: Check.

The list of meat candy goes on. Sides include, and I quote, good ass bacon, sour cream chive garlic mashers, vanilla white pepper sweets and chilled Israeli couscous. Yea, enough said.

The Lure debuts third location

The Lure Gulfport, the restaurant’s third location, is every bit as good as its downtown predecessor. We can’t stay away from the spicy nori and rice balls known as lava drops or the cripsy wonton chips with fresh tuna.

The list of sushi rolls is extensive and poke bowls to satisfy your every craving.

The art on the walls of the Gallery is a delectable as what’s on your plate. It may not be in the Burg, but it’s definitely worth a trip beyond the Sunshine City.

Where is the The Artisan Collective? The Artisan Collective is located at 2832 Beach Boulevard South. It’s open from 4-10pm, Sunday through Thursday, and from 4-11pm Friday and Saturday.
