Owner and veterinarian at Haines Road Animal Hospital, Dr. Raul Buso today announced the official November 5 as the official opening date of his next venture EDGE Animal Hospital. The animal hospital is the only veterinary clinic in the EDGE District and will fill a need in the area, offering progressive medicine and high-quality pet care to the surrounding community. A 3,100 square-foot space, the new animal hospital is located at 913 1st Ave N, Saint Petersburg, FL 33714.

This is hugely beneficial to the extraordinarily pet-friendly St. Pete area.

At-home visits and golf cart deliveries 

Locally owned and operated, EDGE Animal Hospital delivers a full scope of services such as allergy treatment, vaccinations, dentistry, surgery, radiology and ultrasound. Dr. Buso plans to roll out additional patient-focused services in the coming months, which include at-home visits to the Edge district residents, local golf cart transportation for food deliveries or pickups, online pharmaceutical orders and a mobile app.

Walking distance from St. Pete’s popular apartment communities, EDGE Animal Hospital offers convenience as well as a safe, comfortable environment for pets to receive premium veterinary care.

“As a downtown resident, I saw an opportunity to serve the EDGE District community, presenting a new approach to veterinary services and treatments,” said Owner Dr. Raul Buso. “We treat our clients and pet patients as if they are family, communicating clearly and providing honest, professional advice, regardless of the circumstances. EDGE Animal Hospital is a pet’s home away from home.”

Providing affordable pet car services in downtown St. Pete

The building was purchased in May of 2019, and due to COVID-19 construction was delayed. Complete with a vibrant feline-inspired mural painted by Matt Kress, a local St. Petersburg artist, the building has already made its mark on the EDGE District. EDGE Animal Hospital is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM, Saturday from 8:00AM-12:00PM., and closed on Wednesday and Sunday. Dr. Buso seeks to expand these hours in the near future. EDGE Animal Hospital prides itself on providing adaptable and affordable pet care and will even create customizable payment plans for qualifying clients.

EMPAD Architecture + Design, headquartered in Clearwater, handled EDGE Animal Hospital’s remodeling and interior design and AllPhase General Contractors led the project from day one.
