Prepare your pantries and ready your stomachs – a massive Italian market is now open in Pinellas Park. DeCosmo Italian Market soft opened at 6832 49th Street North and celebrates the official grand opening of its sprawling grocery store and cafe this weekend.

Specializing in imported Italian goods, fresh pastas and produce, bakery items, sweets, and prepared meals, DeCosmo brings an entire world (well, country) of delicacies and delights to St. Petersburg. While we have yet to get inside and see their full array of offerings, DeCosmo’s posts on facebook offer a peek into what we can expect from the area’s newest Italian market.

Offerings at DeCosmo include fresh pasta, produce, biscotti, pastries, artisan bread, signature sandwiches, prepared meals, espresso, and gelato. While the market is primarily for takeaway eats and drinks, DeCosmo also has a café to showcase its baking prowess, allowing guests an on-site place to relax and enjoy coffee, gelato, sandwiches, and anything else they find to their taste. The cafe also has Peroni on tap to pair with a sandwich.

Already, the wine cellar is stocked floor-to-ceiling with bottles of Italian varietals, and the market promises a wide selection of imported cheese to pair with all that tasty vino. In addition to the imported cheese, signage also calls for stretched mozzarella for customers to enjoy fresh. The market also offers desserts, olive oils, candies and much more.

DeCosmo is owned and operated by an Italian-American family who say they want to curate an authentic and enjoyable environment for guests at their grocery store and deli.
