Daddy Kool opens in the Warehouse Arts District on Record Store Day

Daddy Kool opens in the Warehouse Arts District on Record Store Day

At long last, Daddy Kool Records is back in the Burg. The ultimate local record store closed its doors on the 600 Block earlier in the spring, fortunately it didn’t mean a full farewell to the Sunshine City.

The store’s new digs at 2430 Terminal Drive South puts its between local staples like CrossFit 9, Zen Glass Studio and Duncan McClellan.

Daddy Kool Records returns to the Burg

It’s going to be anything but business-as-usual at Daddy Kool when the doors open on Saturday, April 13. Yes, there will be tons of awesome deals on records as one would expect.

But this Record Store Day, Daddy Kool will be joined by the always delectable Cass Street Deli, and coffee beginning at 8am courtesy of Black Crow.

The day begins at 8am, and a special Indie Flea pop-up will run from 11am-4pm. Local vendors and food trucks from across the Burg will be bringing the best flavors this region has to offer to celebrate the reemergence of a beloved music staple.

Indie Flea pop-up and live music into the night

It wouldn’t be a Daddy Kool celebration without live music. Bands include: They Hate Change, Broom Closet, The Venus and Razor & The Boogieman. The live music runs from 6-11pm, so get ready to groove until well after sundown.

Hello Darlin’ records will also provide a DJ set during the day to add some rhythm to your shopping experience.
