St. Pete is ready to defy gravity. We got goosebumps the second it was announced that Broadway sensation and Oscar-nominated actress Cynthia Erivo (“Wicked”) will perform live with The Florida Orchestra on May 2 at The Mahaffey Theater and May 3 at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

Cynthia Erivo is a Grammy-, Emmy-, and Tony Award-winning British actor, singer, author, and producer, as well as a Golden Globe®, SAG, and three-time Academy Award® nominee. Since bursting onto the West End and Broadway stages as Celie in “The Color Purple”, she has starred in record-breaking blockbuster films—including “Wicked” as Elphaba—and taken the world by storm. Her appearance, joined by The Florida Orchestra, promises an evening of unparalleled artistry as she gives voice to music made famous by the greatest female singers of all time.
